i never felt so obliged to blog about any country that i've been to so far.
yes, stockholm is a beautiful city and so are the rest that we've been to, including rome. But just somehow, this trip to London has been the best ever.
so you ask, what defines the "best ever"?
offhand, i can tell you i didn't miss stockholm a bit, which is such an unlikely thing, since it has been a norm to do so in the previous visits to norway, copenhagen, prague, finland, russia, estonia, rome and germany. (ok, not me.)
London is just simply amazing. perhaps its the part where you know all the station names from a certain board game or a certain sport.
or the extensive publicity of musicals all over central London, which u totally can't miss not watching. Les Mis was worth every 55 pounds i paid. and i'm damn glad i watched it.
or maybe its because its our country's 'motherland' and how we appreciate (finally) the same directions the cars drive.
or even its what Aya read in the newspaper:
Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and child Surie spotted at Hyde Park yesterday.
I guess Krispy Kreme played a great part in the whole trip, since i ate a total of 3 doughnuts in 3 days, after much publicising from my dearest friend chung xiang jie who has been doing so since his first year in his "cornfield" university in the states.
"has adrian contacted u? hows krispy kreme? haha"
(Krispy Kreme is super uber sweet. thanks for the warning against the strawberry filled one. haha.. i'ld really turn pinky. i can foresee.)
(xj.. wish you were here.) my 3rd krispy kreme in my life
but of course, besides the other highlights such as a treat of the famous four seasons duck,
shopping at Primark (which is super uber cheap),
feeding squirrels with peanuts at st James park,
walking through Harrods (damn atas)
and the ground of which Frank LAmpard walked on;
its not only about the magnificent Buckingham palace,
the Tower of London and the London Bridge ( they are different),
the Big Ben,
the London eye,
the awesome night view,
but its the "tour guides" who totally made my trip to London a memorable one.
Thanks Angeline for bringing us around on the 1st and 2nd day! we really appreciate your detailed map and your navigation! otherwise we'll not be able to take the best photos at the recommended spots. haha
Thanks Adrian-nie for the time u spent on us (me, in particular. haha) , the recommendations u gave, the duck u treated, the cleaning up of ur room so that we can tompang our bags and stay at ur place for the last few hours, more imptly, the love and hospitality you gave. =D
London has been memorable because of you! :)
Of course, how can we ever forget xj in this... hahaha.. xj, thanks for helping me contact adrian! :)
"nobody is here by chance"
i strongly believe in that sentence and how it applies in the 3 of our lives.
